Decoding Indian Country side and understanding safety of foreigners in India

Badaun Rape Case is being talked about everywhere around the world. Its a mark of stain for the image India has portrayed to the International world. India looks ancient and barbaric to the outside world and even as a Indian living in a metropolitan city the new generation feels appalled at the turn of events that have taken place. Every foreigner you speak to talks about their safety and concerns regarding female travellers. India has  more than one million foreigners settled all around and more expats are flocking to world class cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh etc.

Foreigners are safe in  cities as long as they don't venture at 2 in the morning wearing party clothes, but doesn't this apply to every city in the world. Such cases have been reported around the world.

But how does one understand rural India. How does one analyse travel plans to the countryside in India. Well first of all the rural India is not developed at all. All one can see is farms, farms and farms with sight of cattle here and there. Most rural villages are growing weed in there backyards and durex survey reports villagers to be more promiscuous than city dwellers that are as International as any other place in the world.

Villages in India can be divided based on the area and prosperity. Punjab which is in north India is the fertile land of India and has luxury cars all around the state thanks to the rich farmers living life to the fullest. Uttar Pradesh, which is the largest state in India despite bifurcation, giving India another state called Uttrakand. This is the problem land of the country. The population of Uttar Pradesh ( 207.6 million )is more than the combined population of Germany and France and is higher than many many other countries around the world.  Taj Mahal , Agra is also in Uttar Pradesh and so is the village where shocking rape happened - Badaun.

The moment you leave the luxury state road of Delhi connecting to Agra you realise the world has become a zoo. Food Dwellers, Cows, Tractors,  Colorful clothes pink, yellow, blue- women smoking bidhis ( India Bettle Leaf Cigratte) , Men squatting and sitting here , there everywhere. IT IS A CONUNDRUM. And then you notice that you as a foreigner are being noticed like a celebrity and everyone is staring at you. This is moment you feel unsafe about the surroundings and suddenly want to cover yourself up or slip down and hide in the boot of the car.

Uttar Pradesh is populated, unorganised and chaotic. One gets surprised at how the state survives. Uttar Pradesh can easily nauseate you and also give stomach troubles. Care and Caution are the most important words for any foreigner visiting Uttar Pradesh. We feel frustrated when we visit Uttar Pradesh and feel ashamed of the state of affairs in the city.
Things to love in India - Indian Roadside
For safety foreigners take a bodyguard or a bouncer when travelling to Taj Mahal or other cities in Uttar Pradesh such as Lucknow, Varanasi,Kanpur, Allahabad, Ghaziabad, Noida .

We sincerely advice to do complete research about the living conditions and the safety mechanisms for foreigners in the area visited by you in India, particularly country side areas like Badaun and states like Uttar Pradesh
